Legendary performer Jon King was born John Nelson Gaines on January 12, 1963, in Jacksonville Florida. One of the biggest names in 80’s porn Jon began his career after a Catalina rep, at a car wash in LA, discovered him. Excited to make his dreams of porn stardom a reality he jumped at the chance to perform on screen and soon began shooting for some of the industries biggest studios. In 1982 as his career was on the fast track Jon stole a Corvette while on a test drive, robbed a Burger King in Gainesville FL then wrecked the car, and for this spent eleven months in prison. Upon his release the popular bottom made a comeback in 1983, making several films throughout much of the eighties. In 1989 Jon retired from porn and moved to Atlanta where he pursued a culinary degree. After failing to become a successful chef Jon returned to porn in the early 90’s. His last video, Pumping Iron, was released in 1995. Shortly after the release of his last film Jon, who had been HIV positive for several years, became really sick. He moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico to live with a friend who looked after his needs. It was there that Jon died from AIDS complications on March 8,1995. He was cremated and his ashes mixed and scattered with those of his beloved dog, who had died some years earlier.
