Patrol Cop In Sodom and Gomorrah

The name of the magazine these photos came from is called “Sodom and Gomorrah” but the only text inside of it is a very long, long story about cop tricking with guys on Lovers Lane. I have no idea how a horny cop is connected to Biblical cities of sin, but I guess they couldn’t get any good graphics about Sodom and Gomorrah without looking too “christiany”.
Notice how the cop car looks sideways on the page? That’s because the way the magazine was laid out, the picture of the cute boys was actually sideways and I turned it around for use on the website.
I estimate this magazine was done in the late 1960’s or early 1970’s. Back then, because of obscenity laws, it was really hard to find a photo lab to print XXX rated photos, and it’s pretty obvious that the film was processed and printed at home. In an earlier blog post I explained the difficult task it was to make these pictures presentable, but I actually really enjoyed the process of cleaning them up.

Sodom and Gomorrah – The Book!

Any mention of the ancient cities of Sodom and Gomorrah instantly suggest “sin”, and more specifically, the worst sin of all, homosexuality. In reality, they were probably resort towns, the Las Vegas of their day, or maybe they were not even that overtly sinful, but just bad PR.
I just scanned and added this magazine in it’s entirety to the VIP Room. Thankfully, it has nothing to do with Judea-Christian values (damn) but it does have it’s charms. What I enjoy most about this vintage gay porn magazine Sodom and Gomorrah, is how amateur and home-made the production is. The fact that is was lovingly put together by hand gives it it’s charm.
How do I know it was home made? Though it was printed on glossy paper, it was the cheapest grade paper at the time. (I remember pricing printing stock back then myself.) It’s all in black and white except for the cover and inside center fold had a blue tint as it’s only extravagance.
I had to do a lot of touch ups and correction to the brightness and contrast of these pictures. I probably spent more time on this magazine than any other I’ve done so far for Vintage Bareback. In doing so, it was easy to tell the film was processed at home and printed with a home enlarger. You could see lots of dust spots and little pieces of fuzz that occur from dirty negatives and dirty lenses in the enlarger. It was also obvious the pictures were poorly lit to begin with because there wasn’t much contrast. I corrected them as best I could, but again, that’s part of the charm.
Another interesting fact about the printing of “Sodom and Gomorrah” is the number of pictures that were printed sideways and upside down. It got confusing because the horizontal images were printed sideways at full size rather than shrunk to 8 1/2″ wide and pasted up vertical. As a consumer, it’s nice to see a full page picture, but if you flip through the magazine, you have to keep turning the book, and some pages weren’t pasted up consistently. Fun.

Stuff I Learned From Vintage Gay Porn

I don’t usually include captions when I crop pictures of vintage gay porn magazines for this site. First of all, they don’t usually have captions, and second, they’re not usually helpful. But I have learned so much from researching, collecting and archiving these important pieces of gay history, and this one in particular is so informative. Did you know:

Wow! I didn’t know that! And what about the strange mating rituals of the homosexualist? Did you know that if you show a clenched fist to someone of the same sex, this is what it means:

The Editorial above comes from a pseudo-scientific manual entitled “Sex Play – A Marital Guide to Male Relationships” and it was written by the highly regarded(?) and well-respected(?) scientist Dr. Robert Skulley, M.D., so it must be true! Keep in mind that this was written around 35 years ago when homosexuality was illegal, porn was underground and one of the loopholes to get away with showing two men fucking in a magazine was to prove the work contained something of “scientific merit”.
Those two boys who live next to you or down the street or in the next apartment may be a happily “married” homosexual couple! Unless they are flagrant or swishy, you’ll probably never know the difference. On the outside, they will undoubtedly appear to be best buddies but in their home, you’d find that they’re lovers – as deeply, or as shallow, as any other hetero couple.
This situation is becoming widely known now that the Gay Lib Front is coming to the fore. Having been in deep lavender recesses for so long, homosexuals are leaving the closets and making themselves known for what they are – not asking for pity but for acceptance.
Many people are agreeing with them because of their fear of the population explosion. Homosexuality is a definite cure for that and it seems that some folks look upon it as a necessary evil.
Most homosexuals don’t care to flaunt themselves but still feel it’s right to be able to make one’s own choice as long as it doesn’t step on anyone’s toes. And they don’t like to be classified as criminals in the class with prostitutes, dope peddlers and users, child molesters or traitors. There must be a basic reason for homosexuality – it’s been with us since the beginning of time and at certain plateaus, during the world’s existence, was actually approved of and considered highly aesthetic.

Vintage Underground – Now Streaming Online

My latest vintage gay porn movie, “Vintage Bareback: Underground Kink Volume 1” is now available on both DVD and Video On Demand. In partnership with the largest adult online digital service, viewers can now watch this rare footage as pay per view for as little as 8 cents a minute.
“Vintage Bareback: Underground Kink Volume 1” contains extremely rare footage that is not available anywhere else on DVD and probably never got released on VHS either. Originally shot on film to only be shown in XXX theaters nearly 40 years ago. A small run of 8mm copies were distributed discretely through mail order, but as a consumer product, the 8mm and Super 8 format never achieved a fraction of the impact that VHS or DVD, so this rare footage is truly a treasure!
The three distinct segments of this package each represent a different variety of deviate sex on film.
The first segment, “Hard Wares” depicts a dungeon scene that may be disturbing even to jaded contemporary audiences. Shot in black and white with dim lighting and dark shadows, the twisted experiments of frightening SM techniques are further heightened with an addition of suspenseful cinematic music.
The second segment, “Self-Suck Demo”, is almost a piece of performance art. Also shot in black and white, but with a single stationary camera, it’s an examination of how a limber young man with a hairy chest is able to insert his dick into his own mouth. After demonstrating that he can ejaculate from this position, he then takes it one step further to piss in his mouth, too.
And finally, in what may be the rarest footage of all, “Cowboys In Leather” may never have even been shown in theaters. Though mostly hardcore, it probably wasn’t intended to be shown in theaters because of it’s commercial nature, and certainly not likely to have been released on VHS.
