I use the term “clone” on Vintage Bareback often to describe a style adopted by gay men in the 1970’s, but it’s a term that is now foreign to younger gays. Finally, a visual aid has surfaced that accurately depicts the uniform of a “gay clone” and distinguished it from the “gay jock” look.

Take a two-seater Italian sports car, drive up a lonely side road in the Valley with two young studs in the 1970’s, bring along a camera, and viola. Fiat Factor. They printed a magazine that probably sold thousands of copies without anyone knowing who shot it.
Mostly preppy blond clones, the models seem to be a bit older than your average twink – obviously they are old enough to drive!
Fiat Factor is a mid-70’s magazine I just added to the VIP Room that was obviously a quickie production. It was done during the period when it was only legal to print no-mouth-on-dick photos, but it’s an interesting bit of history to look at.

“Diary of A Young Man Coming Out” is one of the first magazines in my vintage collection and it really helped get my collection started. As soon as I saw the shot of the guy in the matching patterned hat and shirt, the chain lamp, the paneled walls and the feathered haircut getting a blowjob, I knew I was on to something.
I use the term “clones” alot on this site, partly because I need to revive that word in the gay male context in order to put some of these photos in perspective. As I’ve written previously, the emerging gay male community used the term “clone” to describe the legions of men who all dressed alike in the 1970’s and this magazine is a good example. There are three cute men, all in their early 20’s, all blondish with nearly the same haircut and same build. That, my friends, is a textbook example of “clones”.
I’ve seen this magazine a zillion times, but I just noticed how one of them has a pretty awesome bubble butt that I somehow neglected to see before. For some odd reason, though, the guy in the hat clearly stands out from the rest. He’s only slightly cuter, but the other guys no slouches either, so it’s just that undefined “it” factor that gives him that star quality. Otherwise, the other two, as delightful as they are, come off as indistinguishable from each other.

I created a short teaser clip of an obscure little vintage gay porn orgy movie I titled “Fucking Clones”. Back in the 1970’s, for some reason I was really into blonds. If I had seen these two guys at that time, they would have been the most handsome men I would have ever seen. Somebody convinced his sugar-daddy to lend them the keys to the shag carpeted penthouse condo in Santa Monica to shoot some gay porn sometime in the mid-70’s. Plus, there are some of those bad haircuts that is in the in-between stage of growing it out, resulting in a hairdo that just looks unkept, but the long sideburns are flawless.

The star of “Muscle Romance” is hunky guido-looking guy with an awesome build and a thick, meaty cock. Notice they are about the same age, same size, same build, same haircut and, most importantly, same mustache.
