"Diary of A Young Man Coming Out" is one of the first magazines in my vintage collection and it really helped get my collection started. As soon as I saw the shot of the guy in the matching patterned hat and shirt, the chain lamp, the paneled walls and the feathered haircut getting a blowjob, I knew I was on to something.

I use the term "clones" alot on this site, partly because I need to revive that word in the gay male context in order to put some of these photos in perspective. As I've written previously, the emerging gay male community used the term "clone" to describe the legions of men who all dressed alike in the 1970's and this magazine is a good example. There are three cute men, all in their early 20's, all blondish with nearly the same haircut and same build. That, my friends, is a textbook example of "clones".  

I've seen this magazine a zillion times, but I just noticed how one of them has a pretty awesome bubble butt that I somehow neglected to see before. For some odd reason, though, the guy in the hat clearly stands out from the rest. He's only slightly cuter, but the other guys no slouches either, so it's just that undefined "it" factor that gives him that star quality. Otherwise, the other two, as delightful as they are, come off as indistinguishable from each other.

Discovering a 1976 gay porn studio calendar was an unusual find on eBay. But why collect old calendars? I'm sure a lot of guys wished they would have never thrown away their old, old Playboy calender with Marilyn Monroe on it!

You've probably been seeing the term "clone" used frequently on this site, but many of you may be too young to remember that term. This photo of Jon King and buddy are the perfect examples of late 1970's - early 1980's "clones".

"Moonscape Fuck"? Is that some new fetish? No, but I needed to come up with a title for this movie that would distinguish it from any other 1970's vintage three way scene, and its' the first and only time you'll ever see a giant wall-sized mural of the moon in the background of a gay porn movie - past, present or future. 

The men in this movie are very good looking with tight, trim bodies and nice cocks, but without many close-ups or establishing shots, they're not very memorable. (I know what that's like...) Today we classify them as "regular guys", but back then they would have been called "clones". One has longish hair, one has a bushy mustache and sideburns, and one has a single, very faint tattoo. Pick any three modern guys today and you probably have more than a dozen tattoos between them!

The movie gets points for Interior Desecration not only for the tacky moonscape wallpaper, but the mattress on the floor is pretty horrifying, too. But admit it, we have all gone through periods with the mattress on the floor, milk crates for bookshelves, and cinder blocks with 1 by 10's as our entertainment center. And even if you didn't live like that yourself, how many times have you had sex with somebody who's mattress was on the floor? I'll bet you still do...

Like I said, I had to assign this movie a name myself because this movie had no opening credits, just a code number written on the leader of the film. It came in a plain white box with the same code printed on the flap, too. I don't know who the porn stars are, who the director is or even the company that put it out. There's a cheesy "The End" graphic at the end, but it appears there should be another reel or two after this, because they only got around to oral sex and rimming in this segment. The fucking probably comes later on. I have hundreds of reels just like this, so who knows, there may be big finale somewhere buried in my boxes of movies!
